Hello, 2014.
I can't say I've imagined anything specific to happen during this year. And I certainly never thought I'd be writing this public letter.
Life has sent a lot of things my way over the past few years in particular. I honestly don't know what to make of it all, but when you stay focused on your goals and just do the best you can every day, that simplifies the complication a bit.
As I write this, I find myself revisiting Ministry's Greatest Fits album. Good stuff.
And so I guess this is the part where I should share my new year resolutions. Or non-resolutions, as I like to view it. I don't believe in a single designated day to resolve something for the rest of the year. I feel that if something matters enough to you to want to change it, then you can start making it happen any day you damn well please.
The things I resolve today are not day-specific. These are things I have been working on for a while, and this is a visual reminder. In fact, we should probably do something like this every day to keep the good thoughts fresh in our minds.
1) Appreciate the little things. Always try to see the bright side of life.
2) Do the best I can every single day.
3) Never be afraid to dream BIG!
Do you have goals you work on every day?
Among other things, I struggle with making decisions because I have this anxiety around making the wrong choice. I've been trying to recondition my thought process to say there are not good or bad decisions; there are just decisions. It does help relieve some of the self imposed pressure, so I try to be particularly mindful of this in my daily activities.
