Outfit: Black Bikini + Camo Shorts

black Old Navy bikini and Boa shorts - goth industrial rocker summer style - tattoos inked girls

What I'm wearing:
bikini - Old Navy | camo shorts - Boa
sneakers - Etnies | sunglasses - Steve Madden

Yesterday Gary and I went hiking and cooked out- veggie burgers, potatoes and green beans. So good!

I encountered problems on the way back- I started getting tired and showing signs of heat stroke. But I pushed on despite badly wanting to lie down and sleep in every shady area I saw. I was delirious and couldn't see or walk straight, but I pushed on for the 1 1/2 hour hike back. Fortunately, we saw a lawn sprinkler right when I was at the point of passing out, and I stood in it for a minute, cooling down in the super-cold water. That was enough to help me get home so I could put a cool rag on my forehead and sleep it off.

I felt great after a nap and made sure to keep myself hydrated. That's the problem with us Germanic/Scandinavian blooded people- we're very sensitive to sun and heat!

Outfit: Hello, Tree + Fricken Broccoli Sandwiches

This commercial inspired this photo- "Hello, tree."

What I'm wearing:
halter top - Posh | shorts - Decree
sneakers - Etnies | sunglasses - Steve Madden

Today was another perfect day for hiking and a cookout, so that's what happened.

Gary gets a little excited about cooking out. LOL
Video recorded with HTC One [for Boost Mobile].

I built the fire and he cooked the food. I can't cook worth a shit.

Gary put fricken [fake chicken] and a broccoli and peppers mix into a Mediterranean-Italian marinade before we left, and grilled in aluminum foil. We didn't have rolls at home, so we picked up a package of hotdog buns at a convenience store before hiking up the mountain. It was fantastic, nonetheless.

Outfit: I Climbed This Mountain + Found A Golden Sneaker

What I'm wearing:
tank top - Corner Shop | grey cargo pants - unknown
sneakers - Etnies | sunglasses - Steve Madden

I woke up feeling almost back to normal today [though a bit dehydrated still], and ready to climb mountains. Literally. [Always gotta push it to the limit.. LOL]

And so, Gary and I hiked all the way up to Tanglewood Nature Center, as well as the trails, and back down again. While exploring, we found a golden sneaker!

We checked their website when we got back, and found:

"Chemung County residents can get moving for a chance to win great prizes during the 10th annual Hunt for the Gold Shoes. Look for 300 gold-painted shoes hidden around local parks and walking trails. Enjoy your outdoor adventure with your family, and quest for a gold shoe with a lucky ticket inside! The Hunt for the Gold Shoes is sponsored by the Eat Well Play Hard Partnership, Tanglewood Nature Center and Museum, and its community sponsors."

Next Saturday we'll turn in the shoe and find out if we win!

Outfit: Down By The River + A Speedy Recovery

What I'm wearing:
black tank top - unknown | green shorts with spikes - Decree
knee socks - Soxxy | sneakers - Etnies | sunglasses - Steve Madden

I'm back on my feet again! Mostly. :)

Yesterday was sweltering hot, and Gary and I walked down to the river [which is only 2 blocks from the apartment] in the afternoon to cool down. I took lots of photos with my phone [HTC One for Boost Mobile], and sat on a fallen tree and we watched the birds of prey circle and dive for food. [A few years ago the city constructed nesting areas to bring osprey back.]

As we were leaving, I picked some young dandelion leaves, which I used to brew tea when I got home. [11 Health Benefits of Dandelion and Dandelion Root]

Overnight my kidney pain has gone from intolerable to slight discomfort on the right side, which, I am so relieved! [FYI, I almost died 5 years ago of dehydration due to a kidney infection.] Kidney pain is no joke, and not something to be taken lightly. I knew it was due to taking so many different medications this past week, and I had been severely dehydrated for a couple of days, and hadn't been able to eat much for 3 days, so I waited and tried alternative remedies before going to the ER again. I just wanted a couple days away from the hospital! LOL

The speed-cure:
1) Cranberry juice [on ice if you find it too tart].
2) Apple cider vinegar diluted in water. As much as you can stomach, all day.
3) Turmeric. Use it in food and/or take it in capsule form [with food].
4) Get up and walk a little if you can. Get your blood pumping.
5) Get plenty of rest as well. You'll be exhausted, and need to heal.

I can't ever do nothing, so I kept fairly busy during this time. I finally watched Imaginaerum, which is fantastic, BTW. Later, something clicked- I suddenly had huge waves of lyrics rushing into my head, and had to get them out on paper [my notebook]. And of course, spent several hours with my keyboard in front of me. [There is something so incredibly inspiring about Tuomas Holopainen, he makes me realize the driving force behind why I write.] So my 'down time' wasn't really 'down time', and I wasn't going out of my mind.

I also want to thank Anth [again] for the gift and reassurance, which, I was once again reminded why I do what I do, at a time when I need[ed] it most.

I also must say, we had a basic cheese pizza last night for dinner, and it was the best thing ever. That was the first I could eat more than a few bites on occasion in 3 fucking days, and it was AWESOME.

Outfit: El Cinco De Mayo + New Medication [Skelaxin]

Probably the most random and ridiculous outfit I've worn in a while. I believe in clashing patterns- there is nothing wrong with stripes and leopard print. LOL Wear what makes you happy.

What I'm wearing:
top - American Dream | shorts - No Boundaries | leggings - Claire's
sneakers - Etnies | sunglasses - Steve Madden | necklace - Claire's | beanie - unknown

I finally got ahold of my temporary doctor today (it was rough having to wait all weekend) and he switched me over to Skelaxin (Metaxalone 800mg), which is a muscle relaxer. At least this stuff actually relaxes my muscles, rather than cause intense spasms (Robaxin sucked!). It doesn't take the pain away, but it definitely helps the tension. It's some relief, and better than none.

I have a physical therapy appointment in 2 days, and really don't know what to expect, but hopefully this lady can help me.

Star Wars Day!

Happy May!

I've been wearing very minimal makeup lately, since right now I hurt too much to care. A little powder, bronzer, shimmery nude eyeshadow, and mascara.  That's it!

Since I started using Vitamin C serums, I don't feel so ashamed to be bare-faced in public. I used to refuse to go anywhere without some sort of makeup, but these serums are working miracles on my skin, and I feel good about it now. :)

Soxxy Air Nighthawk Knee Socks

What I'm wearing:
t-shirt - Slipknot | shorts - Old Navy | sneakers - Etnies
Soxxy Air Nighhthawk compression socks

Thanks to Soxxy, I was given a pair of their Nighthawk compression socks to wear and review.

As an avid hiker who has to deal with pain and swelling on a regular basis, I was super excited to try these socks for the first time. The first thing I noticed when I went outside was that they are very breathable, and cool on a warm spring day like today. (Awesome!) Very comfortable, and I don't feel like I'm straining my legs as much when I walk long distances.

I love the Nighthawks. They are so soft, and stretchy, and the planes on the sides are cool (they remind me of an older 2-D video game). I can't wait to wear them with boots! :)

What is Soxxy Air?

SoxxyAir is the only stylish compression sock that gives back.

SoxxyAir increases circulation, reduces jet lag, swelling, muscle soreness and helps decrease the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

Whether you’re traveling on a long-haul flight or on a train or jogging in the park, SoxxyAir will increase your circulation and keep you feeling and looking great all day long.

Outfit: 4/20 Hike + Vegetarian BBQ

What I'm wearing:
tank top - unknown | bikini - Old Navy | camo shorts - Boa
sneakers - Etnies | sunglasses - Steve Madden

I spent my Easter/4-20 out hiking 14+ miles with Gary, and we also had a cookout for dinner. We're not the least bit religious, and would rather spend the holiday out in nature, away from other people. It was a beautiful, cloudless day, and I couldn't ask for more.

I lit the fire, and he cooked the most amazing sweet teriyaki BBQ fake-chicken! Yum!

Finally, a beautiful warm day! It's humid and feels like early summer. :)

Gary and I walked to an old train bridge, where we took these photos, and hiked a 'loop' around the city. I'm trying to get in better shape before summer hits- bikini season will be here soon enough, and I'm super-excited!

Outfit: Spring Hike

What I'm wearing:
hoodie - Doctor Who | t-shirt - Slipknot - jeans - Dickies
sneakers - Etnies | beanie - unknown

It's a chilly and overcast spring day here in upstate NY, but still great for a hike. I love to go out and get some fresh air and exercise, and I get stir-crazy if I don't.

When your chosen career(s) requires you to hide away in a room with a computer and a bunch of music equipment, it's especially important to make sure to get out and move around often. Right now, I spend about 5-6 hours a day at my computer (which is nothing compared to the 9+ when I collaborate with other artists in addition to my own projects). So a little cardio every day is especially needed- I do my best to stay healthy and active.

Outfit: Recording Sound Samples

I'm so glad to finally see some warmer, sunnier weather!

I'm considering this the official start of another year- I can go outside and the NY weather doesn't make me hate life now.. It's awesome to get out and walk.

My goal for the day: BEAT ON SHIT.

Life is good.

Now that the weather is getting warmer, I can go out and record new sound samples more often. I love finding new noises to use in my music. And, just beating stuff. LOL

Outfit: Ghost Hunting

Halloween is approaching.... Let's get spooky!

But before I get too far into the paranormal stuff, here's what I wore that day:

tank top - Charlotte Russe
capris - Old Navy
sneakers - Etnies

In the summer of 2012, I visited an abandoned sanatorium and caught EVP with my camera. It was a reoccurring, seemingly male, whispered voice that interacted with me throughout my investigation of the building. I had no idea it was there at the time of recording, but then I heard it when I played back my video footage, and my mind was officially blown.

Check it out below:
**You may want to wear headphones while listening to this.**

I don't know what shocked me more- the voice I captured, or the idea that IT WAS TALKING TO ME. And what I found to be exceptionally weird was, even though I didn't hear the voice while I was there, I must have subconsciously picked up on it, because I repeated what it said not long after a couple of times. And I did feel like I was being drawn through certain parts of the building.

But all of that is open to interpretation. If you want to know more about my experience, you can check out the entire investigation here.

Have you ever had any paranormal experiences? How did it make you feel, and did you get any evidence? What were you wearing at the time?

Outfit: Slave To Machine

Combichrist Slave to Machine diy sleeveless t-shirt, decree grunge studded spiked shorts, black leggings, Etnies black skate shoes, black beanie - goth industrial rocker style fashion alt alternative model Raivyn dKSummer isn't dead yet- I was a little warm with this hat today, especially in the sun. But it is a beautiful day and this weather should be enjoyed while we still have it.

Today I grabbed a few random items from my closet and threw them on without much thought. I wore this outfit to Subway, Walgreens, and to the two spots in these photos. (Now I'm in my home studio, preparing to get back to work on the Breaking Pandora EP.) This is a casual, comfy, everyday outfit that could be worn for a number of occasions.

I love layering clothes- it creates depth, adds character, and encourages you to experiment. How many different ways can you wear the clothes you already have in your closet?

Sunday Outfit: Hiking

I got these awesome Tripp shorts a while back for $7 on eBay. They're made of a nice heavy denim (much too hot for today) and durable.

You don't have to be a label snob, nor spend a certain amount of money on your clothing to be fashionable, so toss that notion right out the window. Many of my favorite items in my closet have been obtained cheaply, some even free! (It does pay to have generous friends) Hit up online (or otherwise) rummage sales, eBay, clearance racks at your favorite stores, etc. Visit stores you normally wouldn't shop at. You may just find that one item you were looking for, and for much less than expected.

Wednesday Outfit: Your Bones Are Showing

It was a chilly summer morning here in NY, hoodie weather.

I love this hoodie because it glows in the dark! However I can't wear the hood because it zips over the face and squeezes my head too much. Still, it's pretty cool.

I chose to wear a more relaxed kind of pants today because my bruised tailbone is acting up. (Oww!)  I'm not concerned about style today, just being comfortable.

hoodie - Teenage Runaway
pants - Old Navy
sneakers - Etnies
sunglasses - Steve Madden
