Easyriders Rodeo 2014 - Chillicothe, OH

Wow, what a week! 

I went with to the Easyriders Rodeo in Chillicothe, OH with Electric Zombie Tattoo. 

Our booth setup was pretty fucking awesome, if you ask me. 

I saw several friends [like Tom Storm- he took photos of me last year] whom I haven't seen in forever it seems. 

The weather was hot and humid. I remember it being 95 degrees or something like that. And I was 'tenting it'. At least most of my days were spent in the air conditioned arts building. 

I made new friends too, like Steve, who tattooed "fearless" on my right forearm on the last night. [No pictures yet, will have to do that soon.] 

I love meeting new people who are fun, and I must say we probably partied a little too much. LOL But it was so worth it! I'm used to late nights. 

I also met other cool people, like Garey Faulkner [@misledcincinnati on Instagram], who you'd probably know best for being on that Whisker Wars show. 

I also got a shirt from the Ridin' Dirty guys. Sweet! 

So it's been a very eventful and fun week, and I'm stoked to have spent my time with so many awesome people. Definitely hoping to do it again next year!

I'm Going To Ohio!

I'm going to Ohio again this year for the Chillicothe Easyriders Rodeo. So excited! I'll be leaving early Wednesday morning and should be back by Monday at the latest.

Right now I'm rushing around to pack all my stuff so it's not another last minute thing, which I so often do. This year I want the morning of departure to be as stress free as possible. 

I'm also trying to downsize what I take with me as well [sample sizes are a life saver] so I don't have too much stuff inside my tiny 6'x6' tent again. And I'm bringing a tarp with me to avoid waking up to a flood [I did not enjoy rolling over into a small pond last year]. 

Lots to do still... See you in a week! 

Outfits: Easyriders Rodeo Revisited

Last month, when I went to Chillicothe, OH, I met a new friend, Tom Storm, who took some candid shots of me on the job. All of the photos in this post were taken by him. (Thanks, Tom!)

While I had a lot of fun, the 15 hour work days were rough! The guys, our clients, and many of the other tattoo artists I've had the chance to meet were a pleasure to hang with, so I can't complain.

After work, we spent plenty of time enjoying the excitement of 'the pit'. Not too late though- we had to be up at the crack of dawn every morning.

As for sleeping arrangements, we camped. In tents. And I had a 7x7' midget dome tent. It held up quite well through a storm one night, which I slept through (I was so tired!), and I woke up to a giant puddle that took up almost half the tent. Fuck that, no, it was a pond. Fortunately though, my clothes and other important stuff stayed dry.

I had a major wardrobe malfunction right from the start- that's my luck. A heel blew out on my stompy boots, rendering them completely unwearable. Fortunately, one of the guys came to the rescue and let me wear his Converse. (A whole size too big, but they saved my ass.) Unfortunately, this meant my leather corset and some of the other dressier stuff I'd packed were out. I made due with the other random items I'd packed just in case something was to happen... Go me!

Although it was more of a work-away-from-home thing than an actual vacation, it really did feel like a vacation and was a wonderful trip. I didn't get to see the barstool races and all the other fun events, but I did get to experience the chaos that is the Easyriders Rodeo... and I'll never forget it!

I absolutely love life on the road. It's where I feel most at ease, more than any other home I've had. I'm a traveler, an adventurer by nature. The spontaneity is liberating.

I love these shorts. I found them on a clearance rack for $5 a few days before I left for Ohio. Awesome find!

There were several photos taken of my tattoos; this one just happened to be featured online recently.

The Chillicothe Easyrider Rodeo was a blast! I met a bunch of cool new people, worked long hours during the day, and partied with my friends at night.

I wore this outfit Saturday - the photos were taken in my tent, the tattoo building, and down in the pit at night. Fun times!
