What's In My Makeup Bag: June 2014

What's in my bag:
Sephora eyeshadow Peach Beige N*13
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick 663 Va Va Violet

Outfit: Your Ribs Are Showing

I'm really loving dark purple eyes and lips right now, especially with my light blonde hair- it really balances out my look, with the dark clothes and light complexion.

I must admit I was afraid of dark lipstick in the past. But it's one of those things you just have to try for a while, and it grows on you. I am now a lover of bold lips and won't go anywhere without my lipstick!

Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel in 150 Wild Violets

Last Saturday I went nail polish shopping and, after checking it out a few times, finally purchased Revlon Perfumerie scented nail enamel in 150 Wild Violets for just short of $6.

Over the summer I bought Revlon scented nail enamel in 310 beach. I was amazed by how long both the bright color and scent lasted. And it is probably the longest lasting (both in wearability and smell) that I have ever tried.

Well..... this didn't quite live up to that standard. But that doesn't mean I hate it. Not at all.

It has an amazing wild violet scent and is the greatest deep purple ever, and I love it!

But the scent gets weak fairly quick, and it chips much sooner than 310 Beach. Perhaps it is a flaw in the new vs. old scented nail enamel. Or maybe it is just this color...?

Have you tried Revlon Parfumerie  Wild Violets? What do you think?

I Went Nail Polish Shopping! - Revlon, Rimmel, and Sinful Colors

Today I stopped at Walgreens to pick up a few new nail colors, and found a lot of awesome ones, but narrowed it down to four after much indecisiveness...

My picks:

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro in 282 Hard Metal - advertise your products here

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Pro in 282 Hard Metal - on clearance for $1.19 (regular price $4.49)
I'd been eyeing this color for a while now, and today, it was on sale! I absolutely had to buy it before it's gone.

Revlon Parfumerie scented nail enamel in 150 Wild Violets - advertise your products here

Revlon Parfumerie scented nail enamel in 150 Wild Violets - $5.99
6 bucks is probably the most I'll pay for nail polish, and I had a hard time justifying it today, but I couldn't resist the gorgeous deep purple (my favorite color!)... and it's supposed to smell like wild violets? Awesome! I was addicted to Revlon's 310 Beach, so why not give it a shot!

Sinful Colors nail polish in 293 Gorgeous - advertise your products here

Sinful Colors nail polish in 293 Gorgeous - $1.99

Sinful Colors nail polish in 265 Rich In Heart - advertise your products here

Sinful Colors nail polish in 265 Rich In Heart - $1.99

I can't wait to try these great colors! It was so hard to narrow down to these four.. I wanted to buy every holographic polish in the store!

Have you bought any cool new nail colors lately?

Best Holiday Nail Color: Revlon Top Speed Nail Enamel in 350 Mistletoe

Merry Christmas, everyone! (Or, happy whatever holiday you may or may not celebrate!)

I managed to destroy my previous nail polish I originally planned to wear today, so I redid them in probably the best holiday nail color I've ever seen (picked it up on clearance the other day) - Revlon Top Speed fast dry nail enamel in 350 Mistletoe.

After just one coat of this gorgeous deep olive colored glitter polish, I was in love! Then the second coat.. and PERFECTION! This nail polish is stunning!

I'll wear this until I run out, holiday or not. Festive, but not tacky. Sparkly, but I don't look like I have disco balls on my fingers. Elegant, and a little daring as well. This is the perfect polish to make a statement.

Have you tried the Revlon Top Speed polish in Mistletoe yet? What do you think?

Makeup: What I Wore To The Zombie Ball

*This post contains affiliate links.*

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it
Last night was the Zombie Ball, before which I did not have time to take outfit photos. But other people happened to snap some photos while we were there and I can at least talk about the makeup I wore.

I was super prepared as far as the makeup goes... I woke up this morning to find it hasn't budged one bit. Not a single crease. Spilling my drink down my chin didn't do anything to it. I tell you, these are miracle products right here.

To get that perfect pale complexion, I used...
CoverGirl Outlast 3-in-1 foundation
Sephora MicroSmooth powder

On my eyes, I used...
the matte black from Revlon Colorstay eye shadow quad in Siren (applied dry with a sponge applicator to line the eye, then with a brush to extend outward)
Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant mascara

To set the look, I used...
Urban Decay De-Slick makeup setting spray

black corset by Charlotte Russe, gifted from a friend

I passed out with my makeup on last night (bad, I know...) and even now, as I'm sitting in my robe with a hangover, I still look fabulous. In fact, I'm actually kind of dreading washing it off and finding out how bad my under eye circles really are...

So if you're going to an event, or just want to be sure your makeup stays 10+ hours, I really suggest trying these products out for yourself. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Review: Revlon Scented Nail Enamel in 310 Beach

Last week I bought and tried Revlon Scented Nail Enamel in 310 Beach. I purchased it at Walgreens for $2.79 (regular price $5.49).
I like this stuff! Not only is it a great bright, shiny, flashy green, it stayed quite well all week, even with daily use of cleaning products. It even kept its scent, which makes me think of sunblock, only a little better. I've never had a nail polish stay so well, especially one at this price. Well worth it!

Review: Revlon Colorstay Eye Shadow in Siren

I'm not a big fan of drugstore makeup brands, mostly because they tend to not stay in place after a few hours, especially the eyeshadow.

But when I saw "Colorstay" and the amazing colors the "Siren" quad has to offer, I couldn't resist trying it out.

And it's awesome. The shadows really stay in place, even after a 13 hour work day, during which I was running a lot, in intense heat and sun part of the time, and profuse sweating and some blotting, with no touch-ups. I call it a "drugstore miracle" and would recommend it to anyone.
