This Hat Has Been Everywhere With Me
5+ years.
It's been with me in many cities, in many states... through several hairstyles... good and bad hair days. I've grown very attached to this hat.
In fact, I have a backup but don't wear it because it's not the same.
I also dread the day this hat dies, because I fear I can never break in the backup hat to feel the same as the first.
In all honesty, it looks like shit. The white patch is permanently stained brown. An entire Tide pen can't even restore it. There is sweat and makeup permanently caked inside where it rests on my forehead. It took a lot of heat, sweat, and hairspray to mold it to the shape it has formed to. (Am I grossing you out yet?) No amount of washing can remove these characteristics.
But I really love this hat. It was given to me while on the road, to save me from a bad hair day. This hat and I have memories together.
I had this hat before I had tattoos. And I know I've worn it to several of my tattoo appointments.
I had really, really long hair at one point. This hat has been with me through a lot of the fun times since then, 3-D glasses and all!
It has saved me from bad hair while in the midst of a hangover and fans with cameras first thing in the morning on 2 hours of sleep (when in all actuality, it was mid afternoon). I didn't have enough electricity or time to straighten my bangs. And no warning of photos.. but that was to be expected.
For me, it's nostalgia. It's a reminder of wonderful times and laughs I don't wish to forget. And it always feels 'just right' when I put it on.
My backup Jager hat will never live up to this. I dread the day I have to make the switch.
Do you have a specific item of clothing you're attached to?

Outfit: Ghost Hunting
But before I get too far into the paranormal stuff, here's what I wore that day:
tank top - Charlotte Russe
capris - Old Navy
sneakers - Etnies
In the summer of 2012, I visited an abandoned sanatorium and caught EVP with my camera. It was a reoccurring, seemingly male, whispered voice that interacted with me throughout my investigation of the building. I had no idea it was there at the time of recording, but then I heard it when I played back my video footage, and my mind was officially blown.
Check it out below:
**You may want to wear headphones while listening to this.**
I don't know what shocked me more- the voice I captured, or the idea that IT WAS TALKING TO ME. And what I found to be exceptionally weird was, even though I didn't hear the voice while I was there, I must have subconsciously picked up on it, because I repeated what it said not long after a couple of times. And I did feel like I was being drawn through certain parts of the building.
But all of that is open to interpretation. If you want to know more about my experience, you can check out the entire investigation here.
Have you ever had any paranormal experiences? How did it make you feel, and did you get any evidence? What were you wearing at the time?

Outfits: Easyriders Rodeo Revisited
While I had a lot of fun, the 15 hour work days were rough! The guys, our clients, and many of the other tattoo artists I've had the chance to meet were a pleasure to hang with, so I can't complain.
After work, we spent plenty of time enjoying the excitement of 'the pit'. Not too late though- we had to be up at the crack of dawn every morning.
As for sleeping arrangements, we camped. In tents. And I had a 7x7' midget dome tent. It held up quite well through a storm one night, which I slept through (I was so tired!), and I woke up to a giant puddle that took up almost half the tent. Fuck that, no, it was a pond. Fortunately though, my clothes and other important stuff stayed dry.
I had a major wardrobe malfunction right from the start- that's my luck. A heel blew out on my stompy boots, rendering them completely unwearable. Fortunately, one of the guys came to the rescue and let me wear his Converse. (A whole size too big, but they saved my ass.) Unfortunately, this meant my leather corset and some of the other dressier stuff I'd packed were out. I made due with the other random items I'd packed just in case something was to happen... Go me!
Although it was more of a work-away-from-home thing than an actual vacation, it really did feel like a vacation and was a wonderful trip. I didn't get to see the barstool races and all the other fun events, but I did get to experience the chaos that is the Easyriders Rodeo... and I'll never forget it!
I absolutely love life on the road. It's where I feel most at ease, more than any other home I've had. I'm a traveler, an adventurer by nature. The spontaneity is liberating.
Have you gone anywhere lately? What did you wear?

Outfit: Thunder Roads Ohio
tshirt - Fuxleep
shorts - Decree
I love these shorts. I found them on a clearance rack for $5 a few days before I left for Ohio. Awesome find!
There were several photos taken of my tattoos; this one just happened to be featured online recently.
I'm looking forward to seeing more of the photos taken, by all the photographers, as well as everyone else who stopped to take a pic...
Thanks, Thunder Roads. Hope to see you again soon!

I'm Going To Ohio!
Today I'm headed to Chillicothe, Ohio with 'the guys' for a week long tattoo convention/bike rally. Fun times!
After the stress of preparing, packing, and making sure I have enough "'ho clothes" for the week, I'm looking forward to catching up on some Zzz's.... It's an estimated 7 1/2 hour trip, according to Google, so I've got plenty of time to sleep.
I also recently downloaded Limmy's Swearing Xylo app on my phone, so there's some potential for hilarity there. You should totally check it out. (Unless the word "cunt" offends you. LOL)
It's been a little over a year since I've last been camping.. After last year's hurricane while I was in Ocean City, MD, and hearing that it storms every year during this festival, I'm a little leery about the 'safety' of my tiny dome tent. I'm sure I'll be just fine though.
I'm not sure if I'll have cell service once I get there or not- it's in the middle of nowhere. Regardless, I have a few posts lined up for while I'm away, and I'll share my photos when I can.
Until next time..............
